Iscairia is a big country house built in the '60s and surrounded by
an olive grove confining with an archaelogical area of the ancient Yele-Elea,
city of the Magna Graecia, founded by refugees from Phocaea in the 6th
century b.C. and homeland of Eleatic philosophers (Xenophanes, Parmenides
and Zeno).
The structure keeps still its original basic and functional lines, built
for business aims, but at the same time it shows typical feminine refinements,
that make the house cosy and agreeable, also for exigent tourists. Ornaments
on the walls and the names of Muses and precious stones given to each
room make the architecture less austere.
Bedrooms, all equipped with bathrooms, tiled with ceramics of Vietri,
have furniture of 19th century, personalized with beautiful tapestries
and original drawings on the walls.
